Everyone is a candidate for Laser Hair Removal (LHR). Laser hair removal is the use of laser energy to produce long-term hair reduction. The heat from the light of the laser is absorbed by the pigment, or melanin, in the hair. The heat then triggers inflammation in the hair follicle, which causes the follicle to go into its resting (telogen) phase. While resting, the follicle produces no hair. On average, clients with lighter skin tones usually achieve 80 -95% reduction of hair. Clients with darker skin tones may require additional treatments to get the desired results. Darker skin tones absorb more heat from the laser and have a higher chance of hyperpigmnetation if too much power and heat is applied. To proven these risks, lower energy is used. The interval in between treatments is usually 4 -6 weeks for the upper parts of the body such as face, underarms and arms and 6-8 weeks for the lower parts of the body such as back, chest, legs and bikini. This allows the appropriate amount of time for the next crop of hairs to grow. Laser hair removal has little to no down time and can be easily done during a lunch break
