Over the last few years, plastic and cosmetic surgery has been on the rise. According to data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the industry on a whole increased two percent in 2017 over 2016, with 1.8 million surgical procedures performed and 15.7 million minimally-invasive procedures performed. In a late 2017 article, HuffPost spoke with five plastic surgeons in major cities across the U.S. to see what was behind the growing movement of men and BOTOX®.

Of the doctors surveyed, general stats behind this trend showed that:

• The average age of men getting BOTOX® was between 35 and 65
• Most were white-collar professionals in business, law, fashion, or art
• Most had generally higher incomes
• Most received injections in their brows and around the eyes

While these show some similarities among the men who’re getting BOTOX®, or Brotox as it’s commonly known now, most doctors said that men of all ethnicities, sexual preference, and social demographic were getting the injections. They credit this in large part to an aging workforce trying to stay competitive in their fields as younger individuals continue to advance in the workplace.
