Botox

Botox® is a protein injected into the muscles underneath the skin which helps them to relax. In this way fine lines and facial wrinkles that are caused by these muscles are minimized, which results in a clean, smooth facial appearance. Botox® is used to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and facial creases such as frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines, and crows feet around the eyes. The Botox® procedure is less invasive and also much less expensive than a face lift and produces immediate results.

Botox® can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating) through a special technique whereby the release of excessive sweat from underarm glands is reduced. Once properly injected by the doctor, Botox® blocks the release of a chemical that signals perspiration. When the sweat glands don’t receive this chemical signal, the severe sweating stops. The treatment can last six months or more.
