Skin Blemish Therapy

Photorejuvenation is a method that uses specific wavelengths of intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat a variety of skin conditions as well as fine lines and wrinkles.  The process induces the skin to regenerate, heal itself and create new collagen.  It is non-invasive and can produce a minor “face-lift” effect.  It is also sometimes known as Photofacial therapy.

With Photorejuvenation, there is less down-time, compared to many other treatments.  The effects can also be longer-lasting.

Conditions such as sun damage, age spots / brown spots, freckles, loss of skin elasticity, enlarged pores and poor skin texture can all create the appearance of prematurely aged skin.  Additional factors like exposure to the elements, tanning, hormonal changes and stress can actually speed up the aging process.  However, Photorejuvenation / Photofacial therapy can reverse or greatly reduce the appearance of these conditions as well as treat premature signs of aging.

Avalon Laser uses an advanced technology that combines radio-frequency (RF) and pulsed laser to send energy into the skin while not disrupting the skin’s surface. This non-invasive technology, which has earned several patents, targets irregular skin pigmentation and uneven skin texture while leaving healthy surrounding tissues intact.  The technology has also been used to treat medical conditions such as Rosacea and spider vessels (telangiectasias).

The treatment is safe and can be used throughout the body, although Photorejuvenation is most often performed on the face, neck, chest, arms and hands to improve the appearance of the skin.  When combined with Botox and dermal fillers such as Juvederm, both larger and smaller wrinkles can be effectively targeted and removed.
