Laser Hair Removal Side Effects
There are a few temporary side effects that may occur after a laser hair removal treatment. Occasionally, depending on body area, some minor discomfort may be present during and after the procedure. This can easily be alleviated with a local anesthetic cream or ice packs. Discomfort after the procedure is very rare although over-the-counter pain relief medication often help. Any minor swelling and redness should subside within 24 hours.
Certain precautions can be taken to avoid complications. Patients need to let the practitioner know if they have any family or hormonal conditions or if there has been a history of any form of the herpes virus in the area you intend to treat. Exposure to tanning and exposure to the sun should be avoided at least one week prior to the laser hair removal session.
The risks can be further minimized by choosing a practitioner who is experienced and well qualified.
